{"product_id":"rare-franklin-mint-limoges-cat-curio-cabinet-cats-vintage-figurine-c1990","title":"Rare Franklin Mint Limoges Cat | Curio Cabinet Cats Vintage Figurine c1990","description":"A particularly sought-after vintage Franklin Mint “Limoges” Cat, from the collectible Curio Cabinet Cats Collection, dating from the later series, circa 1990.\n\nThis beautiful miniature depicts a peacefully curled sleeping cat finished in an extraordinarily rich cobalt-blue glaze, lavishly decorated with delicate gold-coloured flowers, scrolling foliage and tiny ornamental details.\n\nFurther gilded decoration highlights the collar, ears, nose, curled tail and lower border, creating a striking contrast against the deep jewel-like blue.\n\nThe design is known within the Franklin Mint Curio Cabinet Cats collection as “Limoges” and is one of the less frequently encountered later designs in the series. \n\nCollector-market records have repeatedly highlighted Limoges among the more difficult Curio Cabinet Cats to find, making it particularly desirable for anyone attempting to complete the collection.\nThe underside bears the small later-period Franklin Mint mark:\n© TFM\n\nPlease note that “Limoges” is the name of Franklin Mint's design and refers to its Limoges-inspired decorative style. This figurine should not be confused with antique French Limoges porcelain or attributed to a historic Limoges factory.\n\nMaker: The Franklin Mint\nCollection: Curio Cabinet Cats\nDesign: Limoges\nPeriod: Later\/third series, circa 1990\nMaterial: Porcelain\/ceramic\nDecoration: Cobalt blue with gold-coloured floral and ornamental detailing\nMark: © TFM\nSize: approximately 5.5–6 cm \/ 2¼ inches across\nPlease see the measurement photograph for scale.\n\n*Condition*\n\nIn excellent vintage condition.\nThe figurine has been carefully inspected and we have identified no chips, cracks or repairs.
