{"product_id":"vintage-franklin-mint-art-nouveau-frosted-glass-cat-curio-cabinet-cats","title":"Vintage Franklin Mint Art Nouveau Frosted Glass Cat | Curio Cabinet Cats","description":"A beautifully understated vintage Art Nouveau frosted glass cat from The Franklin Mint's wonderfully varied Curio Cabinet Cats Collection.\n\nThis charming miniature depicts a peacefully sleeping cat curled into a wonderfully simple, flowing form.\n\nMade from softly frosted glass, much of the detail has been created through the shape itself rather than applied decoration. The cat's rounded body flows into its curled tail, with subtly modelled paws, head and pointed ears emerging from the smooth satin surface.\n\nThe wonderfully restrained design gives the piece an almost sculptural quality and reflects the flowing, naturalistic forms associated with Art Nouveau.\n\nThis particular design is known as Franklin Mint's “Art Nouveau” frosted glass cat and formed part of the earlier Curio Cabinet Cats collection.\n\nInterestingly, the underside of this particular example bears a circular:\n© 1990 THE FRANKLIN MINT\nmark.\n\nThe Curio Cabinet Cats Collection was created as an eclectic series of miniature cats inspired by artistic styles, periods, materials and decorative traditions from around the world.\n\nPlease note that Franklin Mint also produced a different Art Nouveau cat in pewter within the later Curio Cabinet Cats series; this listing is for the earlier-style frosted glass Art Nouveau design.\n\nMaker: The Franklin Mint\nCollection: The Curio Cabinet Cats Collection\nDesign: Art Nouveau – Frosted Glass\nSubject: Sleeping\/curling cat\nMaterial: Frosted glass\nMark: ©1990 The Franklin Mint\nApproximate length: 7 cm \/ 2¾ inches\nPlease refer to the measurement photograph for scale.\n\n*Condition*\n\nIn very good vintage condition overall.\n\nNo chips, cracks or repairs have been identified on inspection.\n\nThere may be very minor surface marks consistent with age, handling and previous display.\n\nThere also appears to be a small remnant from a former label\/sticker on the underside.\n\nPlease study all photographs carefully as they form an important part of the description and condition report.\n\n*A Note from FS Vintage Co.*\nAll of our items are genuine vintage or antique pieces and have been loved throughout their lifetime. As such, signs of age and gentle wear should be expected and are considered part of their unique character and charm.\n\nWe do our very best to photograph and describe each item accurately, so please take a moment to look carefully at all photographs, as they form an important part of the description and condition report.\n\nIf you have any questions or would like any additional photographs before purchasing, please don’t hesitate to get in touch—we’re always happy to help.\n\nWe also believe in giving packaging a second life wherever possible, so your order may arrive using clean, recycled packaging materials to help reduce waste.\n\nYour order will be sent via Royal Mail Tracked 48, providing tracking from dispatch through to delivery.\n\nThank you so much for visiting FS Vintage Co. and supporting our small business—it truly means the world to us.
