Pair of Antique Uranium Glass Jack in the Pulpit Vases
An elegant and unusual pair of antique Jack in the Pulpit vases crafted in beautifully coloured uranium opalescent glass.
These striking vases feature dramatic ruffled cranberry-pink flared rims, clear applied glass trails winding around the stems, and a soft opalescent glow throughout the bodies. When viewed under UV light, the uranium content produces the characteristic green fluorescence so prized by collectors of Vaseline and uranium glass.
Their sculptural form and delicate craftsmanship make them equally suited to display as standalone decorative pieces or as part of a collection of Victorian art glass.
Dating from the late Victorian to early Edwardian period, these vases embody the romantic and highly decorative aesthetic of the era. There are no makers marks but they are in the style of the makers Stevens & Williams.
Presented in very good antique condition with light age-related wear consistent with age and use. Neither vase has any noticeable chips or cracks.
Please study photographs carefully as they form an important part of the description.
For measurements, please see photographs.
These vases really are special, a wonderful addition to any collection of antique glass, uranium glass, Victorian decorative arts, or country house interiors.
