A wonderfully elegant vintage Franklin Mint bronze “Art Deco” cat from the collectible Curio Cabinet Cats Collection, dating to around 1990.
This striking little sculpture is one of the later Art Deco-inspired designs from the collection and features an exceptionally sleek, stylised seated cat with a long slender neck, pointed ears and beautifully exaggerated curled tail.
The cat is made from bronze, with a rich warm brown finish that complements its wonderfully streamlined Art Deco form. Beside its front paws sits a contrasting cream-coloured ball, adding a playful little detail to an otherwise wonderfully sophisticated design.
The simplified lines and sculptural silhouette make this one particularly appealing — it works just as beautifully as a small piece of Art Deco-inspired decorative sculpture as it does within a collection of Franklin Mint cats.
The piece is marked ©FM near the base.

Franklin Mint produced more than one Art Deco-inspired design within the Curio Cabinet Cats collection. This is the later seated bronze Art Deco cat with cream ball, rather than the earlier walking 24-karat gold-plated Art Deco cat.
*Condition*
In very good vintage condition.
The bronze cat presents beautifully, with no obvious breaks, losses or repairs identified during inspection. The ears, facial features and wonderfully curled tail are intact, and the cream-coloured ball is present.
There are some light age-related marks and rubbing to the underside of the base, as shown in the photographs, together with the occasional very minor surface mark consistent with vintage age and handling.
Please study all photographs carefully as they form an important part of the description and condition report.
Please note: This listing is for the Franklin Mint cat figurine only. Original collector's card, cabinet, packaging and paperwork are not included.
