A charming vintage Franklin Mint “Colonial Pewter” cat, produced as part of the wonderfully varied Curio Cabinet Cats Collection. Dating to 1988, this little cat is modelled in a wonderfully animated pose, standing with its back dramatically arched, head lowered and long curled tail held upright — capturing that unmistakable feline moment when a cat has spotted something interesting! The entire surface is beautifully textured to represent the cat's fur, with particularly lovely detailing around the face, ears, legs and curling tail. Finished in pewter with darker tones settling into the recessed detail, the figurine has a lovely aged silver-grey appearance which really brings the modelling to life. The design was described by Franklin Mint in its original period advertising as a “Colonial American pewter kitten,” making this a particularly nice example for collectors of the Curio Cabinet Cats series. One of the legs is clearly impressed: ©1988 TFM for The Franklin Mint. Please note: This listing is for the Franklin Mint cat figurine only. The original presentation box, collector’s leaflet/card and any other original packaging or paperwork are not included. *Condition* In very good vintage condition. The figurine has been carefully inspected and I can see no breaks, cracks, repairs or missing elements. The ears, four legs and distinctive curled tail are all intact. There is some natural variation and gentle patination to the pewter finish, together with minor signs of age and previous handling consistent with a vintage collectible. The flattened ends of the feet show the brighter underlying metal, as photographed. These appear consistent across the feet and form part of the construction/finish rather than damage. The ©1988 TFM mark remains particularly clear and is shown closely in the photographs. Please examine all photographs carefully as they form an important part of the description and condition report. *A Note from FS Vintage Co.* All of our items are genuine vintage or antique pieces and have been loved throughout their lifetime.
