A charming vintage Franklin Mint “Herend” Cat, produced for the wonderfully varied Curio Cabinet Cats Collection and dating to 1988.
This delightful little porcelain cat is captured in a low, crouching pose, its head lowered towards a small gilt ball beneath its mouth. The white porcelain body is decorated with an intricate pale blue fish-scale or net-style pattern, beautifully contrasted by vivid blue ears and rich gilt detailing to the paws, tail and face.
The design takes its inspiration from the highly decorative porcelain traditions associated with Herend, recreating the look in miniature as part of Franklin Mint's Curio Cabinet Cats series.
It is a wonderfully characterful little piece — decorative enough to display in its own right, but particularly desirable as part of the wider Curio Cabinet Cats collection.
The underside is clearly marked:

*Condition*
In good vintage condition.
From inspection, I can see no obvious chips, cracks or repairs to the porcelain. The delicate ears, paws, tail and small gilt element beneath the mouth all appear present and intact.
There is some light age-related wear/rubbing to the gilt decoration, particularly visible on the paws, consistent with the age of the piece.
Please examine all photographs carefully as they form an important part of the description and condition report.
Please note-
This listing is for the Franklin Mint cat figurine only. The original presentation box, collector's card, display cabinet and other original packaging or paperwork are not included.
