A particularly striking and harder-to-find vintage Franklin Mint Porcelain Lace Cat, from the collectible Curio Cabinet Cats Collection.
This wonderful little figurine depicts an elegant seated black cat with beautifully painted green eyes and a spectacular contrasting white porcelain lace ruff collar.
The collar is what makes this particular Curio Cabinet Cat so extraordinary. Formed to resemble layers of finely gathered lace, the porcelain has an intricate pierced and textured appearance, creating an astonishing amount of detail on a figurine measuring only around 7 cm tall.
The glossy black finish beautifully sets off the crisp white collar and vivid green eyes, giving the cat an almost Elizabethan appearance.
The underside carries the © TFM Franklin Mint mark.

This is one of the more unusual designs within Franklin Mint's wonderfully varied Curio Cabinet Cats collection and is especially appealing for collectors because of the extremely delicate porcelain-lace technique used for the collar.
*Condition*
Please note that this example has damage and losses to part of the delicate white porcelain lace collar.
The damage is concentrated principally around one section of the upper layers of the ruff, where a number of the extremely fine porcelain lace elements have been lost. This can be seen clearly in the close-up photographs and has been taken into account when pricing the piece.
The surviving collar remains remarkably decorative, and when displayed from the front the figurine still presents beautifully.
The black porcelain cat itself appears to be in good vintage condition, with no obvious major chips, cracks or repairs identified elsewhere during inspection.
Because porcelain lace is exceptionally fine and fragile, please examine all photographs carefully before purchasing. They form an important part of the condition report.
🌿 Beautifully Imperfect
This piece forms part of our Beautifully Imperfect collection — a carefully chosen selection of vintage and antique treasures that have picked up a few bumps, chips, cracks or repairs during their journey through life, but are simply too beautiful, interesting or special to give up on.
Any damage will always be clearly described and photographed, and reflected in the price. We believe that something doesn't have to be perfect to deserve another chapter — sometimes its imperfections are simply part of the story.
A little broken. Still beautiful. Still worth saving.
Please note-
This listing is for the Franklin Mint cat figurine only. The original presentation box, collector's card/leaflet, display cabinet and any other original packaging or paperwork are not included.
