I Haven’t Unpacked
An Autobiography by William Holt
Published by The Book Club, London, 1942
A wonderfully, characterful wartime-era autobiography by William Holt, recounting an extraordinary and adventurous life filled with travel, political upheaval and personal reinvention. Holt’s story moves from Yorkshire mills to Spain, Canada, Japan and beyond, making this a fascinating snapshot of early 20th century life and travel.
This vintage 1942 Book Club edition retains its original dust jacket and striking red cloth boards beneath. The worn jacket and aged pages give the book a beautifully timeworn appearance full of authentic vintage charm.
An ideal piece for collectors of autobiographies, travel writing, wartime literature or decorative vintage books with character.
Condition Report:
Fair vintage condition overall consistent with age and use. Published in 1942. Original dust jacket present but heavily worn, with tears, creasing, rubbing and loss to edges and corners. Red cloth boards beneath remain bright and attractive. Pages show age toning throughout with some light marks consistent with age. Binding appears intact and sound. A well-loved vintage copy with plenty of character and display appeal. Please study photographs carefully as they form part of the description.
