A beautiful vintage Cobalt Blue glass cat from The Franklin Mint's wonderfully eclectic Curio Cabinet Cats Collection, dating to 1986.
This striking miniature cat has been formed from wonderfully rich, transparent cobalt-blue glass and depicts a relaxed feline reclining with its front paws stretched elegantly forwards and its large curled tail wrapped around its body.
The deep sapphire-blue glass positively glows when placed in the light, revealing the sculpted contours of the body, paws, face and curled tail.
Known as Franklin Mint's “Cobalt Blue” design, the piece was inspired by the historic tradition of richly coloured cobalt-blue glass, including the decorative glass associated with Bristol.
The underside retains its original circular label reading:

Franklin Mint's Curio Cabinet Cats Collection began in 1986 and eventually comprised 39 miniature cats across three collections, interpreting feline forms through a wonderfully diverse selection of materials and decorative traditions.
A particularly attractive example from the collection and a lovely piece displayed where natural light can illuminate the intensely coloured glass.

From the photographs, this example appears to be in very good vintage condition overall.
The cobalt glass remains beautifully bright and glossy and the original Franklin Mint label is still present underneath.
I can see some light surface marks/scratching to the underside, consistent with previous display.
No chips, cracks or repairs have been identified.
Minor surface marks consistent with age and previous display may be present.
