A charming vintage Franklin Mint “18th Century German Style” Cat, from the collectible Curio Cabinet Cats Collection, dating to 1988.
This wonderfully characterful miniature cat is modelled sitting upright on a rectangular plinth, with one front paw raised as though waving — or perhaps preparing to wash its face!
Finished in glossy white with rich brown tabby-style markings, the cat has beautifully painted facial details, a tiny russet-red nose, striped curled tail and even little brown paw pads on its raised foot.
The design is known within the Franklin Mint collection as the “18th Century German Style” Cat, taking its inspiration from historic German porcelain animal figures. This is a Franklin Mint interpretation of that decorative tradition rather than an antique 18th-century German porcelain piece.

In very good vintage condition overall.
The glossy porcelain and brown painted decoration present beautifully, and the delicate raised paw, ears and curled tail appear intact.
No obvious chips, cracks or repairs have been identified from our inspection.
