Vintage Green Heart Art Glass Paperweight – Attributed to Wedgwood
A beautifully simple vintage art glass paperweight featuring a rich green heart encased within a substantial disc of clear glass.
The central heart motif appears almost suspended within the piece, surrounded by a wonderful deep apple/olive green circular well. Viewed from different angles, the thick clear glass magnifies and distorts the colour beneath, giving this little paperweight a surprisingly sculptural appearance.
This piece is unmarked, however its design and construction are reminiscent of vintage Wedgwood art glass. It is therefore being offered as attributed to / in the style of Wedgwood, rather than as a definitively identified Wedgwood piece.
The heart design makes this particularly lovely as a small vintage gift — for an anniversary, wedding, Valentine's Day or simply for somebody who loves collecting vintage British and studio-style art glass.
It would also make a beautiful little decorative object displayed on a desk, dressing table, shelf or amongst a collection of vintage glass.
