A fabulous and wonderfully unusual Franklin Mint “Cut Crystal” Cat, from the collectible Curio Cabinet Cats Collection, dating to 1988.
This is one of the most distinctive designs in the collection, constructed from beautifully faceted clear crystal elements mounted upon its original glossy black rectangular plinth.
The cat's wonderfully characterful little face is formed from a faceted crystal head embellished with applied metal ears, nose and whiskers, while the larger faceted crystal body is finished with its original elegant curled metal tail.
As the light moves across the numerous cut facets, the crystal produces wonderful flashes, reflections and tiny rainbow colours, making this a particularly eye-catching member of the Curio Cabinet Cats family.
Importantly, this example remains complete, retaining its original black base together with the delicate applied facial details and tail.
The metal tail fitting bears the ©1988 mark.

A lovely example for a Franklin Mint collector, particularly appealing because all of the small applied components remain present.
*Condition*
In excellent vintage condition.
This figurine has been carefully inspected and is complete, with no chips, cracks, repairs or missing components identified.
Both faceted crystal elements are sound. The original metal ears, nose and whiskers are present, together with the original curled metal tail and black rectangular base.
The metal components display gentle age-related patination/tarnishing, entirely consistent with a vintage piece and something we have deliberately left unpolished.
There may be very minor signs of previous display to the black base, but nothing that detracts from the overall appearance.
