A striking vintage Franklin Mint “Ruby Glass” Cat, from the later series of the collectible Curio Cabinet Cats Collection, dating to approximately 1990.
This beautiful miniature cat is made from wonderfully rich transparent ruby-red glass, which changes dramatically according to the light. In brighter conditions the thinner areas glow a vivid jewel-like red, while the thicker sections deepen to a sumptuous cranberry-ruby shade.
The seated cat has been moulded with a stylised, almost sculptural form, with its tail curled prominently around its body. Particularly lovely are the moulded flower/starburst motifs decorating both the chest and curled tail.
The smooth polished glass and wonderfully saturated colour make this one of the most eye-catching designs in the collection.
Known as “Ruby Glass”, this design belongs to the later group of Franklin Mint Curio Cabinet Cats and is considerably less frequently encountered than many of the earlier designs.
The underside bears the small gold-coloured © TFM mark.

*Condition*
In excellent vintage condition.
The cat has been carefully inspected and is completely sound, with no chips, cracks, significant scratches, losses or repairs identified.
The ears, facial features, paws and curled tail are all intact, and the moulded floral/starburst decoration remains beautifully defined.
There may be the very slightest signs of previous handling or display expected of a vintage glass piece, but nothing that detracts from its appearance.
The © TFM mark remains visible to the underside.
Please study all photographs carefully as they form an important part of the condition report and show the exact figurine you will receive.
