A beautifully understated vintage edition of Widecombe Fair by celebrated Devon author Eden Phillpotts. Bound in pale decorative cloth with elegant Art Nouveau style detailing to the cover and spine, this charming book captures the atmosphere of rural Dartmoor and West Country life that Phillpotts became so well known for.
A lovely addition for collectors of classic English literature, decorative antique books, or anyone drawn to cottagecore, country house and rustic interiors. Its soft neutral tones make it especially beautiful for styling shelves, coffee tables or vintage-inspired spaces.
The book also contains a handwritten inscription dated 1932, adding further character and history to the piece.
Condition Report:
Good vintage condition overall with gentle age-related wear consistent with use and age. The pale cloth boards show some light marking, fading and minor rubbing to edges and corners. Pages have natural age toning throughout, but the binding appears sound and intact. There is a handwritten inscription to the front endpaper dated 1932. Internally clean and very presentable overall. Please study photographs carefully as they form part of the description.
